Birthspirit is the wholeness in each of us.
Innately present, deep within us all,
she waits to be discovered as we peel back the cluttering layers

and self doubt that exist in our herstory.

Birthspirit Cottage
The
Cottage is the home of Birthspirit’s activities, including
Birthspirit's Midwifery
Skills for Emergencies Intensives and many of its workshops. It is located on Maggie and
Tony Banks 2 ¼ acre rural property in Tamahere, Waikato,
New Zealand - 15 minutes south of Hamilton, 8 minutes north of Cambridge
and 4 minutes from Hamilton Airport. Amenities include a spa pool
and an adjacent wetland walk.
The Cottage has been blessed with six home births making it a perfect
retreat for midwives to learn and to share experiences. It is also
a comfortable location for researchers to explore the herstorical
and historical materials about maternity services in Aotearoa New
Zealand held by the Wise Woman Archives
Trust.
